Full Moon Celebration 10/09

Thank you to all the wonderful souls who came out to celebrate the Wuji Moon Full Moon Celebration.  What an AWEsome turnout.  So much love and energy.

What an OMazing evening. It began with Goddess Jiwan and a set of Kundalini Yoga exercises (kriyas and mantras). And then Jared led us through a QiGong session where we grounded our energy and created lots more. And then we LAUGHed, LAUGHed, LAUGHed as we HO, HO, HA, HA, HA under the Full Moon. We shook it all about and HOKEY POKEY’d and we greeted each other with laughter and hugs. What wonderful energy we created as we sampled Laughter Yoga. And the ripples of laughter we sent out – very good, very good, Yay!!! And then Lisa Lumiere led us through some Full Moon QiGong and chanting at La una.

We were supposed to drum but the ceremony was running very late. I absorbed so much energy and had no way to release so I sat by the water with some friends. Another couple had drums and were slowly beating them. We joined in and had a little drumming circle. It lasted 10 minutes yet it filled my soul.  And then I had to go home, past my bedtime.

The last Full Moon Drumming Ceremony was in September, 2009 and what ener-chi it created in my life.  Check it out by clicking HERE.

I wanted more. Unfortunately, it was already 9:00 p.m. and I am an early riser and early sleeper. So I went home for bedtime and had to miss the fabulous drumming.  It did cause me to have this desire to drum – I’ve been banging and tapping on things all month, creating a rhythm for the energy that just needs to get out.

This month for the Hunter Moon, I am creating a SACRED SPACE for all those who want to join me and release their pent up energy and surrender to the flow of the Moon.   I will show up with my drums and intention to welcome the Moon in peace and in sacred Circle.  I will bang on a drum and chant and dance as the Moon guides me.

I hope others who feel the ancient beat join me as we bang a drum, as we dance, as we BE… and celebrate the Full Moon on November 2, 2009.  Behind the Hollywood Beach Community and Cultural Center, we will be on the beach – raising and praising the Moon with our drumbeats….  looking forward to seeing you there

WSM Glenn

WSM Glenn is a peaceful soul who joined our LAUGH LOVE LIVE Cirlce almost a year ago.  He was looking to add something to his yoga teachings on the beach.

He surprised us one day by jumping out from behind a tree and serenading us on his guitar with his rendition of “Who do you Love?”   A bard, a teacher, a performer – this WSM is very talented.

He was recently spotted at the Little Bakery in Hollywood, Florida where he hosts an acoustic open mic night.  He shared with us this video below.

Thank you for the beautiful vibrations, WSM Glenn.  You are not the only one, my WSM Dreamer.

The Humanist and his Queen Goddess

WSM George & Goddess Malka

I met WSM George and his wife, Goddess Malka at our Thursday Laughter Yoga Circle.

They so enjoyed our session that they came back for more.   And they brought friends.  They also petitioned to have me teach Laughter Yoga at the Hallandale Memorial Senior Center.

Goddess Malka is a body laugher.  She uses her whole body to laugh.  She is amazing during the Wave as she lets it roll through her body and twirl her around until she releases it.

WSM George, he can start and stop at will.  And when you hug him and laugh, it reverberates right through you, from the tips of your toes to your core.  Tee hee!!!

WSM George is a humanist.  During our healing circle at the end, he will put patience and tolerance into the circle and send it out to the Universe. Goddess Malka (which means Queen in Hebrew) and WSM George always send me the most wonderful emails.  The files they send contain beautiful pictures and sounds that inspire and motivate me. This week, I was really touched by this video they shared of Declan Galbraith singing Tell Me Why.  Declan was 10 when this song was released.  His compelling voice is captivating.  My favorite lyric is: LAUGHTER IS THE LANGUAGE OF THE WORLD. Enjoy!!! A tidbit:  On December 9, 2002, the largest choir in history, drawn from all parts of the UK and Ireland joined Declan to sing “Tell Me Why” for a Guinness World Record.

Mama Goddess

I met Goddess Adeyela a few weeks ago when she and her daughter came to Thursday night’s Hollywood Laughter Yoga Circle.

What a great laugher!!!  And what wonderful energy.  Bubbly and so full of love!!! Both her and the more reserved Goddess in Real Life Moremi.

Mama Goddess Adeyela is the Mother of four Goddesses in Real Life, the two youngest being twins or Iyabeji _ as the Yoruba people of Nigeria refer to these revered Goddesses in Training.

Besides being a full time Mom, she is also a first grade teacher and a puberty rites-of-passage facilitator and a talented writer.  To me, these three things are sacred gifts that a woman and Goddess can offer.  Teaching is already a huge blessing.   To also facilitate a Rites of Passage for Goddesses In Real Life as they enter womanhood – that is a beautiful thing.  And then to share the wisdom and experience and knowledge and expertise by writing about.  Tis a beautiful thing.

Goddess Adeyela shared with me her blog which is full of facts, wisdom and perspective.  I am looking forward to laughing more with this wise Mama Goddess and learning more from her as I start building my own village as I prepare in my journey for conscious pregnancy.

And thank you Goddess Mama for reMINDing me of the wise words of the writer and prophet Kahlil Gibrahn.  I look forward to hearing the musical version of Sweet Honey in the Rock:

ON CHILDREN (an excerpt from Khalil Gibran)

Your children are not your children.

They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.

They come through you but not from you,

And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.

You may give them your love but not your thoughts.

For they have their own thoughts.

You may house their bodies but not their souls,

For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.

You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you

For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

Goddess of Music

We have been blessed to have Goddess Linda at our Thursday night Hollywood Laughter Yoga Circle.

She too is a great laugher and is always prepared to share her smile, good mojo and energy.

She was kind enough to bring a video camera and tape our session on Thursday, July 3, 2008. And what a great Laughter Yoga session it was. We were a smaller circle due to the New Moon. Yet, we laughed and breathed and hugged and sang. And Goddess Linda recorded it all.

It’s being edited and fixed up and soon will be shared on the website for all to enjoy.

In the meantime, Goddess Linda is the President at Audacity Recording where among other things, music and sound is created for TV and movies.  Audacity is offering classes for those who are learning any and all levels of Midi composition and recording and specialty classes for recording techniques and pro tools mixing for film and video.   A nice way to explore a new medium prior to making a major commitment.  Check out their scheduled offerings for more information.

Goddess Dancing Flower by the Water

Goddess Connie is a member of our Tuesday morning Hollywood Laughter Yoga Circle.  When I first met her, I felt such an exuberance and happiness for life. Her eyes sparkle and her smile goes wide from side to side.  I was so glad she kept on coming back for more.  Tee hee!!!  After a few sessions, she brought her husband, WSM Christopher, to join.

Goddess Connie is a wise and ancient soul with a keen eye for nature and very knowledgeable of all the souls in TY Park.  She also has a great laugh and her face reddens and her eyes twinkle and you just can’t help laughing when she starts to laugh

She sent me this A picture and kind words.  With her permission, I share her eloquent words:

YES!!!

“Hello, Goddess Diana !

What a wonderful laughter this morning, and soooo needed !

I have been meaning to send you this photo.  During a visit to my very best friend ,who lives in Albuquerque, we took a trip up into the mountains and visited the Sancturio de Chimayo, a very special chapel in the little village of Chimayo.  On the way out of the town , the road ended at this sign and the highway went either right or left.  My friend, Nikki, and I just burst out laughing, as we had just had a beautiful spiritual experience during our visit .

A local was selling chili powders..mild, med., and hot.  He did this little game with pistachio shells and would scoop up teensy tastes of the chili powders with the shells and let us sample each of them, followed by eating the pistachio nut !!!  Not only was he a magician with the hands and shells and scooping of the powders, he also kept telling us of his life’s travels, astounding tales filled with humor and strangeness and truth !  We were mesmerized, and each of us bought 3 bags of the chili powders. We were suspended in time, fully intent on sharing this man’s story of his life, completely non-judgemental and loving every moment of just being !

The Chapel was also fascinating;around the time of Lent, and Easter, people carry crosses on their backs, sometimes for hundreds of miles to journey to this place of healing. It is rich in history.

Well, it was a magical, heart filling day, and then this sign just said it all !!!

You and WSM Noah free so many spirits, and that is why I think of you when I look at this picture !

Love, Peace, and many giggles !

Dancing Flower by the Water, Goddess Connie”

Thank you my Dancing Flower by the Water Goddess!!!  Keep on dancing.  The World needs your wisdom and light and love.  And thanks for making my day with your vision and words.

Goddess of Comedy

Last week, a new member joined the Hollywood Laughter Yoga Circle.

Goddess Pam showed up with a lot of enthusiasm and raring to go. And we are so happy to welcome her into our community. She is also a talented comedienne who performs standup comedy.  And while Laughter Yoga advocates laughing for no reason, we love to laugh from the right side of our brains as well.

Well – for me, a Goddess who has the guts to get on stage and share, especially comedy – is a bold and brave Goddess.  And Goddess knows we need many more of this archetype.   Reminds me of that excellent movie called Punchline with Sally Fields, the housewife turned comedienne. And Goddess Pam reminds me of Sally Fields in her soft approach that I checked out at www.myspace.com/pambruno_comedy

She will be performing live this weekend – Saturday, July 12th at Brownie’s Historic Tavern in Ft. Lauderdale. She advises that admission is FREE with a 2 drink minimum. Please see flyer below for more details.

Tuesday Morning Surprises

This morning we were blessed with the presence of Sensei Daniel Pineda and his troupe of campers.  As he and his counselors were waiting for the campers to arrive for their Martial Arts Summer Camp, they decided to join in our Laughter Yoga Circle.

Slightly overcast this morning, we met right by the lake under the covering of some fabulous trees.  We did Lion Laughter and East-West Greeting as we moved around and met new people.  We did the Hokey-Pokey and danced.  We also had a wonderful Wave with lots of CHILD energy.  And we HO-HO-HA-HA-HEE-HEE-HO-HO’d and then Sensei Daniel and his campers left to start their day.  His nephew Elijah went around and shook each of our hands before they left.

We kept this wonderful kid energy within by joining hands and forming our powerful healing circle and vibrating by sharing OMs.

Go Goddess Go

Goddess Grammy Renee

One of our Tuesday members of the Hollywood Laughter Yoga Circle at TY Park is Goddess Grammy Renee. This very talented Goddess came one day wearing a tank top with some very original straps. The fashionista within me was intrigued. And I just happened to have my camera with me. Goddess Grammy Renee was kind enough to let me take some close-ups.

Metal straps

She creates these herself for tanktops or bras. The next time I saw her she had a beaded one which was delicious eye candy, really. Very good, Very good, Yay!!!

Grammy Goddess Renee is a very intriguing member of our Hollywood Laughter Yoga Circle. She gifted me with two sets of “CHARGE CARDS” – LOVE and HEALING – tee hee!!! Each box contains 30 inspirational

message cards based on a different theme. And there is a little display easel so you can display your card of the day. The cards come with messages for HEALING, FRIENDSHIP, LOVE, HEALING and SUCCESS.

Also, she makes the cutest yoga dresses for GIRLs – Goddesses In Real Life. Check out Minnie Mouse and the yin-yang. I had to check it out on a real live model – thank you Goddess in Real Life Kim and Mama Goddess Eleanor for this great picture.

Guests from Cayuhoga Falls

I met WSM Ed and Goddess Joanne thanks to Goddess Dorothy. She met them on her daily walk in TY Park and recruited them to come laugh with us.They were a little nervous at first but decided to stay and try it out. And kept on coming back for more. Tee hee!!!

WSM Ed shared with us a few poems he’d written.  With his permission, I share my favorite:

Doctor Knoderer

It was during the depression, and I had my first session

With him in that chair that I dreaded.

With a heart full of fear and a mouth full of pain

I sat there wide open and waited.

“Hi there, Bub! looks like you’ve got a dandy!” That kind voice broke the spell

I felt at ease as he began to tease, And soon forgot he was a dentist.

When he said he could beat me at marbles I vowed it could never be done

So the next time we met, before we got set, We had a few games which he won.

We played on his reception room carpet, Where he drew a large circle with chalk.

He couldn’t have cared less, I must confess, When the rest of the patients were shocked.

He made me feel like a king And my heart was full of pride,

To think this big man would draw that ring And kneel, himself, by my side.

This lesson of life should be worshipped by all, For its moral is as holy as God.

He healed my wounds and gave me strength Not with his tools but by his love.

He was an optimist in name, And greater still in deed,

For no one could have done the same if he merely talked their creed.

So we learn through this that what can be Divine

When we practice and are not just a believer.

And ever drink of that heavenly wine which made that dentist a true healer.

WSM Ed and Goddess Joanne had been on my mind for a while.  WSM Noah and I wished them a new Laughter Community in Cayuhoga Falls.  And we missed our friends.

And today – just in time for our Laughter Yoga Circle – WSM Ed and Goddess Joanne pulled up in the parking lot and joined us. It was so nice to laugh and hug and connect. Seems like they have sold their house in Florida and are heading back to Ohio.

Safe travels, my friends.  Keep writing and inspiring the world, WSM Ed.
